Create some form of shared to do list that contains the following weekly updates.
This list could be a (Google) doc or a technology like Trello. Share this list with me.
The week after Thanksgiving will be week 1.
Work Log - jot down what you are working one each week so that you can track your progress. Here is and example of a log entry:
Week 2 Log:
Alice - 2hr - worked on SqlAlchmey Data Model (had to learn about many-to-many joins)
Bob - 4hrs - wrote Jinja2 template for login page
Alice & Bob - 1.5 hrs - meet to design search and search results page
Alice - 1 hr - started writing user login code
Keep the log entries short & simple. A log should NOT be a burden, but rather a way
to help you track progress (or lack thereof). Also, you should check the previous
weeks' action plan to make sure you are staying focused. Be honest if you have been
Action Plan - a tentative schedule for what you hope to accomplish in the next week.
you can use the schedule that you submitted for the Design Review Report for milestones
break down the next 1 or 2 major steps into more manageable tasks.
each task should be able to be completed by an individual in about 2-3 hours.
assign one or more individuals to each task
Here is an example:
Week 3 Action Plan:
Alice - finish db code
Alice & Bob - work to connect login template to backend controller code
Bob - inject data in database
Bob & Alice - meet to plan out the development of main search page
Code and Design Reviews - have individuals (like John or the TA)
check out your code and designs as they emerge. We will leave some time in lab
for individual group meetings.
You can base your log on the timetable that you created for part 3 of the project.
In every Tuesday class, we will look at your log entries.
